Ten minutes on each, shoes off, nobody hovering
Comfort is personal, and a mattress that suits one person can feel wrong to the next. Every mattress in the showroom is made up with a sheet and pillows, so you can lie on each one for as long as you like, on your side, your back or however you usually settle.
Staff explain what is inside each mattress and what firm, medium and soft mean in practice, then leave you to it. Anyone with a back, joint or other health condition should ask a doctor or physiotherapist what to look for; we talk about feel and materials, never treatment.

Bed names change from country to country, and a queen in one place is a double or a king somewhere else. Measure the inside of the bed frame and choose by the centimetres.

Delivery runs six days a week, and everything is carried to the room you choose.

Carried up
Two people carry the mattress or frame to the room, unwrap it and take every scrap of packaging away.
Old one out
The old mattress leaves in our van for a recycler where one operates locally, or for disposal under local rules where none does.

Most of an hour spent lying on six mattresses, and nobody rushed us once. The hybrid felt right for both of us, which had never happened in a shop before.

Questions people ask before they buy
How does the 60 night trial work?
Sleep on the mattress at home for at least two weeks, because a new mattress can take a while to feel familiar. If it still is not right within 60 nights, call us; we collect it for $49 and refund the rest of the price. The trial covers one return per household.
Do you take the old mattress away?
Yes, for $35, chosen at checkout. It goes to a mattress recycler where one operates locally, and where none does, it is disposed of under local rules.
Which firmness suits most people?
There is no single answer, which is why the showroom exists. Firmness is a matter of feel and preference, and ten minutes on each of a few mattresses is the most reliable guide we know. For a health condition, ask a doctor or physiotherapist.
Will a mattress fit up our stairs?
Foam mattresses arrive rolled and fit almost anywhere. Spring and hybrid mattresses bend very little, so measure tight turns and send us the figures if in doubt; a made to measure mattress can be made in two zipped halves.
How should a mattress be looked after?
Turn it head to foot every few months in the first year and use a washable protector. Most of our mattresses are made to be rotated rather than flipped, and the label says which.
Is there a guarantee?
Every mattress carries our ten year guarantee against faults in the springs and foam, written on the receipt. The gentle softening every mattress goes through over time is not counted as a fault.

Where we deliver
The van covers about 50 km around the showroom six days a week. For addresses further away, ask, and the extra cost is quoted before you order.
