Pick a ride

Every ride opens with a five minute warm up and ends with a stretch off the bike. Resistance is always yours to set, so the same ride works for a first timer and a racer.

Rhythm ride

Forty five minutes pedalling on the beat of the music, with climbs, sprints and moves on the bars built into each track.

Length45 min

Power intervals

Short hard efforts and recoveries guided by the numbers on your display, so you work in the zone the instructor calls.

Length45 min

Long climb

An hour of heavy resistance with seated and standing climbs, paced like a mountain stage and finished with a fast descent.

Length60 min

Express

Thirty minutes of steady climbing and short sprints, timed for lunch breaks and early starts before work.

Length30 min

Steady ride

A constant, moderate pace for returning riders, easy days and anyone building back up after a break from training.

Length45 min

Themed ride

One album, one decade or one artist from start to finish, announced a week ahead on the timetable. These rides fill first.

Length45 min

Every ride uses one credit from a pack or membership. A single ride without a pack costs $24.

Ride times

Doors open 15 minutes before each ride. Riders can slip in during the first five minutes; after that, the bike passes to the waiting list.

How your first ride goes

Arrive 15 minutes early on your first visit. An instructor meets you at the desk and stays close for the whole ride.

  1. Shoes and a bike

Swap into lent cycling shoes and find the bike number that came with your confirmation.

  2. Set up

The instructor sets saddle height, saddle position and handlebar height, then writes the settings on a card for next time.

  3. Clip in and ride

Practise clipping in and out, then ride at your own pace: the resistance knob is yours, and so is sitting down at any point.

  4. Stretch and note

Five minutes of stretches off the bike, then jot your average power on the card so the next ride has a number to beat.

Rows of empty indoor cycling bikes under coloured lights and ceiling fans

A dark room, a big sound and moving air

The studio is lit only by the podium and coloured lights that change with the music, so nobody watches anybody else. Fans above every row and a fresh air system keep the room cool on the hottest rides.

Music plays loud, at a level the instructors check with a sound meter each week, and foam earplugs wait in a jar by the door. Instructors write every playlist themselves, and the tempo of each track sets the cadence for that part of the ride.

  • 32 bikes with power and cadence displays
  • Showers, lockers and a hairdryer bar
  • Towels and filtered water at every bike
  • Regular bike numbers held on request

Said after the ride (example reviews)

Tried a first ride on a dare and bought a pack on the way out. The set up at the start made the bike feel right from the very first track.

The Wednesday long climb is the hardest hour of the week and the best playlist. The display shows exactly how much stronger these legs are since spring.

Before you clip in

Is indoor cycling hard for beginners?

Every rider controls their own resistance, so a first ride can be as easy or as hard as you choose. The instructor gives options for each part of the ride, and sitting out a sprint is always allowed.

Do riders need their own cycling shoes?

No. Every bike has pedals that take cycling shoes with two bolt cleats on one side and cages for trainers on the other. Shoes are lent in most sizes at no charge.

Should anyone check with a doctor before riding?

If you are pregnant, have a heart or blood pressure condition, or are recovering from an injury or an operation, ask your doctor before you ride and tell the instructor what they advise. Instructors are not medical staff; in an emergency, staff call your local emergency number.

What happens if a rider arrives late?

Riders can join during the first five minutes. After that the bike goes to the waiting list, because the warm up matters and late arrivals have to cross a dark room.

How old do riders need to be?

Riders must be 14 or older and tall enough for the bike to be set up safely. Riders aged 14 and 15 ride in the same class as a parent or guardian.

What should riders bring?

Water, comfortable clothes and a padlock if you want a locker. Towels and shoes are lent, and the showers have soap and a hairdryer.

Book a bike

Choose the ride and the day, and the studio confirms your bike number by email. Popular rides fill quickly, so riders on the waiting list hear as soon as a bike opens up.

About this sample page

Thirty two bikes, one playlist and a first ride for $12

Cadence Cycle Studio was invented for this example, and its page shows rides, times and prices for an indoor cycling studio laid out on AI Web Maker. Its first screen sets a dark, musical mood and offers a $12 first ride, because trying once is the hardest step for most riders. Six ride cards explain each format by length and feel, and a full timetable follows with the late arrival rule beside it. Class packs, an unlimited month and a clear cancellation note keep the costs plain. A four step first ride guide and the bike request form then close the loop for new and regular riders alike.

A studio owner can get a page like this by telling the builder about the rides, the room and the first visit, then refining the draft that comes back. Bike requests arrive for the studio to accept, reschedule or decline, and riders pay the studio in whatever way it already uses. Nothing is charged until publishing, when hosting starts at $119 for the year and the domain is bought too. The full sample page goes through this example section by section. A studio known for its themed rides could just as well open with those instead.
