What it looks like room by room

A few of the setups clients ask for most, and what each one changes in daily life.

How an installation works

Most homes go from survey to handover in two to four weeks.

  1. Home survey

An engineer spends about an hour checking the wiring, the heating system and the wireless signal, and listens to what you want.

  2. Plan and fixed quote

Within five working days you receive a room by room plan, a device list and a fixed price.

  3. Installation

Our engineers fit and wire everything, usually over one to four days, and test every device.

  4. Handover

A session for the whole household, with scenes set up around your routines and a printed guide.

Your home, your data

A smart home should never feel as if it is watching you. Cameras get privacy zones so they ignore the neighbours' windows, and every account is created in your name, never ours.

We change every default password, give smart devices a network of their own, and choose equipment that keeps working from the wall when the internet drops. Privacy and camera laws vary by country, and we place cameras with the rules where you live in mind.

  • Accounts and passwords handed over to you
  • Devices kept on a separate home network
  • Local control wherever the equipment allows
  • Updates checked on the yearly service visit

Recent installations

From smart lighting in a single apartment to a new build wired before the plaster went on.

The engineer asked how we actually live, not which gadgets we wanted. Now the hall lights come on when the kids get home and the heating follows our shifts.

Grandparents stay with us often, so keeping the normal switches mattered. They never notice anything has changed, and we run it all from our phones.

Wired during the renovation, everything lives in one cupboard and the network finally reaches the garden office.

Questions about smart homes

Do the normal light switches still work?

Yes. We fit smart switches and dimmers that behave like ordinary switches, so guests and grandparents never need an app.

What happens if the internet goes down?

Lighting, heating and wall panels keep running on the home network wherever the equipment allows it. Control from outside the home, and some camera features, return when the connection does.

Which brands do you install?

We stay brand neutral and choose equipment for reliability, privacy and how well it fits the rest of the home. The device list in your quote shows exactly what is proposed.

Can more be added later?

Yes. Most clients start with lighting or heating, and every system is planned so more rooms and devices can join it later.

Is the electrical work certified?

Wiring is carried out by qualified electricians. Rules for electrical work and its certification vary by country, and we follow the ones that apply where you live.

When is payment due?

A deposit of 30 percent orders the equipment, and the balance is due at handover. Clients pay us directly, by whichever method we agree at the survey.

Book a home survey

Tell us about your home and what you would like it to do for you. An engineer calls within one working day to agree a survey time.

About this sample page

What this sample smart home website gets right

Brightwire Smart Homes is a made up installer, and its sample website shows how a smart home company can present its work on AI Web Maker. A phone screen in the opening view switches on four room controls one by one, while buttons invite the visitor to book a survey or see packages. Six system cards with starting prices come next, then three packages and a table of what changes in each room. A survey and installation process, a privacy section and a gallery of installations build trust. The page explains a technical service in the language of everyday life.

An installer starts a site on AI Web Maker by writing a few sentences about the company, and the builder turns them into draft pages and an enquiry form. Survey requests come in through the form, and prices and payment are settled directly with each household. No charge applies while the site is being built or previewed. Publishing it adds hosting at 9 a year, or monthly if preferred, plus a separately bought domain. For an installer whose jobs often run into thousands, a clear website at that cost is easy to justify.
