Five levels, from first words to fluent

Every new student takes a short level test first, so nobody repeats what they already know or struggles in a group that moves too fast.

LevelWhat you can do by the endTypical length
StarterGreet people, order food, ask the way and talk about yourself in short sentences2 courses
ElementaryHandle shops, travel and appointments, and follow slow, clear speech2 courses
IntermediateHold everyday conversations, write simple emails and tell a story in the past3 courses
Upper intermediateDiscuss work and opinions, follow most films and write a clear report3 courses
AdvancedSpeak with nuance in meetings, debates and social settings with little effort3 or more

These five levels are the school's own. Official exams, and the certificates they lead to, differ from country to country, so tell us which exam you are aiming for and we check its format with you.

Teachers who live in the language

Every teacher is a fluent speaker of the language they teach, holds a recognised teaching qualification and has taught adults for at least three years. Classes are spoken from the first minute, and grammar is explained when it helps rather than for its own sake.

Each course mixes speaking, listening, reading and writing around real situations, such as a job interview, a visit to the doctor or a dinner with new neighbours.

  • Fluent teachers with teaching qualifications
  • Speaking practice in every class
  • A progress check halfway through each course
  • Homework kept to about an hour a week

Questions before you enrol

How does the level test work?

It takes about 30 minutes in the school or by video: a relaxed conversation and a short written task. The test costs $15, which comes off your first course fee, and the placement arrives within one working day.

What age are the students?

Groups are for adults and teenagers from 14. Students under 18 need a parent or guardian to complete the enrolment, and their private lessons take place in the school or by video with a parent at home.

Can students prepare for an official exam?

Yes. Exams and the certificates they lead to vary by country, so tell us which one you need and we check its format and dates with you. Preparation runs as private lessons, or as a short group course when enough students share an exam.

Are classes in person or online?

Both. Each group course runs either in the school or in a live online classroom, and private lessons can switch between the two. Classes are never recorded, so everyone can speak without worrying about mistakes.

What if a class is missed?

Your teacher shares the notes and the homework, and once per course you can sit in on another group at the same level to catch up, when it has a seat.

How are fees paid and refunded?

Fees are paid directly to the school once a place is confirmed. Withdraw before the second class and the full fee is returned; after that, fees can be moved once to a later course.

Book a level test or a lesson

Pick what you want to book, the language and a time. An answer from the school arrives by the next working day, with your slot confirmed or the nearest alternative.

  • Level test $15, taken off your first course
  • Pay the school directly once your place is confirmed
  • Lessons in the school or by video

The school keeps these details only for arranging the test or lesson you asked about.

About this sample page

What makes this sample language school website work

Nobody can enrol at Polyglot House, yet its pages show how a language school can present three languages, five levels and several course formats on AI Web Maker. Its first screen leads with a level test, because most new students do not know where they should start. Cards for English, Spanish and French sit next to course prices and group sizes. A level table then describes each stage as tasks a student can perform, while noting that official exams vary by country. Every section moves a hesitant learner a step closer to booking that first test.

To build something similar, a school owner describes the languages, levels and formats on offer, and the builder produces the pages from that outline. Students then request a level test, a course or a private lesson, and the school accepts, moves or declines each request, with fees paid directly to the school. Hosting is $119 a year after the site goes live, and the domain comes on top. The walk through further down explains why each section of the sample sits where it does. Reuse the structure, then fill it with your own teachers, courses and timetable.
