Four sofa fabrics

Every sofa in the shop comes in these four. Each one was picked to stand up to daily family life, and up to four samples can be posted to you before you decide.

Oatmeal weaveA soft, textured weave that hides crumbs and paw prints well.
Slate velvetShort pile with a gentle sheen. Brush it now and then to lift the pile.
Clay linenA washed linen blend that softens and creases a little with use.
Moss boucleLooped yarn with a nubby, warm feel, at its best in winter.

Room sets in the showroom

Each corner of the showroom is laid out as a room, so you can see how pieces sit together before choosing.

Measure before you order

A sofa that fits the room can still stick in the hallway. Four checks now save a wasted trip later.

  1. Measure the space

Mark the footprint on the floor with tape, leaving about 75 cm to walk past a sofa or around a bed.

  2. Measure the way in

Note the width of every door, hall and stair on the route, and the height under any low beam or light.

  3. Check the tightest turn

Corners in narrow halls and stairwells are where sofas get stuck. Measure the diagonal of the turn too.

  4. Compare the packed size

Each product lists its packed size and its depth with the legs off. If the numbers are close, call us first.

Sit on it before you buy it

Comfort is personal, and a sofa that looks right in a photo can sit too deep or too firm for you. Every piece in the shop is on the showroom floor, with seat depths and cushion fillings labelled so you can compare them side by side.

Our team can lend you fabric samples to take home, work out a layout from the room sizes you bring, and hold a piece for 48 hours while you think it over.

  • Every shop piece on the floor to try
  • Fabric samples to borrow or have posted
  • Pieces held for 48 hours while you decide

Followed the measuring steps, phoned about a tight turn on the stairs, and the team suggested taking the feet off on arrival. It went up without a scratch.

The storage bed swallowed two boxes of winter clothes. The drawers run smoothly and the oak looks better after a year of use.

Questions about ordering

How long does delivery take?

Pieces marked in stock arrive within ten days. Made to order sofas take about eight weeks, and we phone to agree a two hour window once they reach our warehouse.

Will a sofa fit through the door?

Each product lists its packed size and its depth with the legs removed. Follow the measuring steps above, and if the numbers are tight, call us with them before ordering.

Can furniture be returned?

Unused pieces in their original packaging can come back within 14 days; we collect them for the same fee as the delivery. Made to order and made to measure pieces cannot be returned.

What does the frame guarantee cover?

Sofa frames and springs are guaranteed for five years against breaking in normal use. Fabric wear, fading and pet damage are not covered, and the guarantee sits on top of any rights consumer law gives you where you live.

How should solid oak be looked after?

Wipe spills quickly, keep pieces away from radiators and heaters, and oil the top once or twice a year with the oil we supply. Oak darkens slowly in daylight, which is part of its character.

Do you build fitted storage?

Yes. Alcove shelving and wall units are made to measure in our workshop. Send the room and rough sizes through the form and we arrange a visit to measure properly before quoting.

Fabric samples and made to measure

Ask for up to four fabric samples by post, or describe the storage you have in mind and we arrange a measuring visit. We reply within one working day, and every made to measure piece is quoted in writing before work starts.

About this sample page

Helping a buyer picture the sofa in their own living room

Hearth and Home Furniture is a made up showroom, and its single page store shows how a retailer can sell sofas, beds, dining sets and storage on AI Web Maker. Three stacked price cards in the opening view promise open pricing, and the shop below keeps that promise with eight pieces and an Add to bag button on each. Fabric, size and finish are chosen on the card, while fitted shelving shows an Enquire button because it has no fixed price. Fabric swatches and room set photos help buyers judge texture and colour from home. The result is a store that sells large pieces without hiding the details buyers need.

Getting furniture through the front door is the other half of the sale, and the sample gives it as much room as the products. A delivery table sets out four services and their fees, and a four step measuring guide covers rooms, hallways, turns and packed sizes. Guarantees, oak care and returns are answered in plain terms, and an enquiry form handles fabric samples and made to measure quotes. Furniture sellers who build on AI Web Maker describe their ranges, and the builder drafts pages for them to edit. Any store can borrow this order of sections and fill it with its own pieces.
