How your hour works

Arrive 15 minutes before your start time. The clock only starts once everyone has been briefed.

  1. Arrive and settle in

Lockers for bags and phones, water if you want it, and a hello from the game host who will run your hour.

  2. The briefing

Five minutes on the story, the rules and the safety points, including how to open the door at any moment.

  3. Sixty minutes

Search, solve and talk it through. Ask for a hint whenever you like; there is no limit and no penalty.

  4. Debrief and photo

The host walks you through anything you missed, then takes a group photo with your finishing time.

Never locked in, always looked after

Every room door stays unlocked for the whole game, and a green button beside it releases all the inner doors as well. Step out for the toilet, for some air or to stop altogether, and the host pauses the clock while you are gone.

Your host follows each game on a live camera feed that is never recorded, and talks to the room through a speaker. If anyone feels unwell or uneasy, say so out loud and the host comes straight in.

  • Doors unlocked from start to finish
  • Live camera feed, never recorded
  • Hosts trained in first aid on every shift

Access and age rules, room by room

Plain details, so everyone in the group knows what to expect before you book.

Questions before you play

Are we actually locked in?

No. The room door stays unlocked for the whole game, and the green button beside it opens every inner door too. You can leave at any moment, and the host pauses the clock while you are out.

What if we get stuck?

Ask for a hint out loud or ring the hint bell. Hints are unlimited and carry no penalty, and the host may also nudge you when a puzzle has stalled for a while.

Is it scary?

None of the rooms uses actors or jump scares. The Lighthouse is dim and has a slow flashing lamp; if anyone in your group is sensitive to flashing light, say so when booking and the lamp is set to a steady glow.

Can someone with limited mobility play?

The Attic has level access and puzzles at table height, so it suits wheelchair users. The Sleeper has a narrow corridor, and the Lighthouse is up 14 stairs. Tell us about access needs when booking and we suggest the best fit.

What if we arrive late?

Games run back to back, so a late arrival shortens your hour. If you are running behind, call us and we do what we can to hold the slot.

Can we change or cancel?

Changes and cancellations made 48 hours or more ahead of your start time keep the deposit, which either moves to the new slot or is returned. After that the deposit is kept, because the room was held for your group.

Book a room

Pick a room, the day and a start time, then add the number of players. During opening hours we confirm within a few hours, or suggest the closest open start time if yours has gone.

  • A $40 deposit holds the slot once confirmed
  • The balance is paid at the venue on the day
  • The door stays unlocked for every minute

Weekday games start from 13:00, and the 22:00 game runs on Fridays and Saturdays only. For a game today, call instead of using the form.

About this sample page

How the Lockstep sample sells an hour in an escape room

Lockstep Escape Rooms is an invented venue, built to show how an escape room can take bookings on AI Web Maker. Its first screen sets a countdown ring at sixty minutes beside a photo of players at work, and says at once that the door is never locked. Three room cards give each story, difficulty and player range, and a price table shows how the cost per player falls with group size. Safety and access each get their own section, with a table covering stairs, light effects and age limits for every room. Example reviews, direct answers and a booking form for a room and a start time finish the page.

An escape room owner can build something similar by describing the rooms, the pricing and the house rules in a few sentences. The builder drafts the room cards, the tables and the booking form, and every line remains editable. Groups send requests, and the venue accepts, moves or declines each one while arranging payment directly. After launch the bill is $119 a year, or $19 monthly, for hosting, with the domain priced by its ending, and nothing is billed during building and previewing. The sample page linked below explains every section and the thinking behind it.
