How a visit runs

Four stops, at an easy pace, with a guide who has worked the still.

  1. Check in at the shop

Arrive ten minutes early. Everyone who will taste shows photo ID, whatever age they look.

  2. The still room

Mash, wash and the copper pot still over its firebox, with the spirit running when the day allows.

  3. The cask warehouse

Rows of oak in the cool, the smell of the angels' share and the oldest cask in the yard.

  4. The tasting bar

Small measures with water and mixers, or the zero alcohol flight for anyone not drinking.

A pot still that runs on fire

Most stills today are heated by steam. Ours sits over a firebox, which takes more care to run and gives the spirit a heavier, rounder character. On distilling days the fire is lit at six, and morning visitors often see the first clear spirit run from the condenser.

Grain is milled and mashed in the yard, botanicals for the gin steep overnight before the run, and every cask is filled and stored in the warehouse next door.

  • Grain milled and mashed on site
  • Gin botanicals steeped overnight
  • Casks filled and kept in the yard

Bottles at the yard shop

Bottles are sold in person, at the shop on site, to buyers of legal drinking age with ID. Spirits are never posted, because the rules on selling alcohol at a distance vary so much between countries and regions.

Strength is alcohol by volume. Bottles can be bought on the day of a tour or during shop hours.

Twelve botanicals in the house gin

Juniper leads, as it must in any gin. The rest are weighed by hand for every run.

  • Juniper
  • Coriander seed
  • Angelica root
  • Orris root
  • Lemon peel
  • Bitter orange
  • Green cardamom
  • Cassia bark
  • Liquorice root
  • Pink peppercorn
  • Meadowsweet
  • Rosemary from the yard

On the blending session each botanical is distilled on its own, so guests can smell and taste them one at a time before building a recipe.

Notes left at the tasting bar (example reviews)

The guide passed round the wash, the low wines and the new make one after another, so the tasting at the end finally made sense.
Femi O.Still room tour
Strict about ID at the door, in a friendly way, and the zero alcohol flight for the driver in our group was thought through, not an afterthought.
Hannah R.Distiller's table
Our blend came out heavy on cardamom and we love it. The recipe is on file, so a second bottle is one phone call away.

Before you visit the still room

Who can taste?

Adults of legal drinking age, which is set by each country and sometimes by region. Every guest who tastes shows photo ID at check in. Younger visitors may walk the still room tour with an adult and are never served; the distiller's table and the blending session are for adults only.

Is there an option for drivers?

Yes. Drivers and anyone not drinking taste a flight of zero alcohol botanical drinks and the house tonic, at a lower price. If you plan to taste, please drink responsibly and arrange a lift home.

Can bottles be bought online or posted?

No. Bottles are sold at the shop on site, in person, to buyers of legal drinking age with ID. The rules on selling and sending alcohol differ widely between countries, so every sale happens at the counter.

Is the distillery accessible?

The shop, the tasting bar and the still room are on one level with wide doors. The cask warehouse has a gravel floor and one ramp; mention it when booking and the guide plans the route.

What should we wear?

Closed shoes, because the still room floor can be wet, and a warm layer for the warehouse, which stays cool all year round.

What if plans change?

Up to two days ahead, a booking can be moved or cancelled and any payment comes back in full. Closer to the day, the places can still be shifted to another date once.

Book a tour or a tasting

Choose the experience, the day and a start time. A confirmation email follows within one working day, or the nearest open slot is offered if that tour is already full.

  • Photo ID for everyone who tastes
  • Zero alcohol flight for drivers
  • Payment arranged directly with the distillery once confirmed

Tours run Wednesday to Sunday. Everyone who tastes must be of legal drinking age where the distillery is.

Find the yard

The distillery yard is signed from the main road, with parking beside the warehouse.

About this sample page

Sparks over the still, ID at the door, bottles at the counter

Copper Still Distillery is an invented gin and malt maker, written to show how a distillery can take tour bookings on AI Web Maker. Embers drift up over the opening photo of a copper pot still above its firebox, beside three short facts about the place. Three experiences follow with prices per guest, lengths and start times, then four steps through a visit from the shop to the tasting bar. A bottle list gives strength, size and price, and states that bottles are sold only in person at the shop on site. The page shows how a distillery can welcome visitors warmly and still be clear about the rules.

Distilleries setting up on AI Web Maker describe their tours, their spirits and their visiting rules in a few sentences. The builder answers with draft tour cards, a bottle list and a booking form, all open to editing. Visitors send a request for a day and a start time, and the distillery confirms it, offers another time or says no. Any money for the visit is settled with the guest directly, and the platform keeps none of it. Live hosting is $119 for the year or $19 month by month, plus a domain picked from about 400 endings. The sample page for Copper Still opens up each of these sections in turn.
