Sample website for Ivory Lace Bridal, a fictional bridal shop, built with AI Web Maker.

A quiet room, a full rail and time to choose

Ivory Lace is a bridal shop where wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses are tried on by appointment, with one consultant beside you for the whole visit. Dresses are ordered and fitted here in the shop, never sold online, so the gown you choose is the gown you have worn.

From the first visit to the morning of the wedding

Most gowns take four to six months to make, and fittings begin about eight weeks before the date.

  1. Book online

Pick the kind of visit plus a day and time that suit; the shop confirms it or suggests the closest opening.

  2. Try on in the shop

Your consultant brings gowns in the shapes you like, and one or two you might not have pictured.

  3. Order and measure

Once you choose, we measure you and order the gown in your size, with a 50% deposit.

  4. Fittings

Two or three fittings, starting about eight weeks out, with alterations made in our own workroom.

  5. Collect

In the final week the gown is pressed, bagged and handed over with advice for the morning itself.

Rails of white and ivory wedding gowns in a light filled bridal shop

More than a hundred gowns, chosen for how they are made

The rails hold over a hundred bridal gowns in sample sizes UK 8 to 28, roughly US 4 to 24, plus bridesmaid dresses in thirty shades. Size labels differ between countries and makers, so fit is judged by measurement rather than by the number inside.

Gowns are clipped to fit while you try them, so a sample a size or two from your own still shows the true shape. Every bride tries the same range, with no separate rail at the back of the shop.

  • Sample gowns from UK 8 to 28
  • Bridesmaid dresses in thirty shades
  • Gowns clipped to fit as you try them

Shapes and fabrics on the rails

Not sure what suits you? Most brides try at least three shapes before the right one appears.

  • A line
  • Ball gown
  • Fit and flare
  • Mermaid
  • Sheath
  • Empire waist
  • Tea length
  • Long sleeves
  • Off the shoulder
  • High neck
  • Open back
  • Lace
  • Crepe
  • Satin
  • Tulle
  • Chiffon
  • Beaded bodices
  • Bridal jumpsuits

Bridesmaid dresses come in matching or mixed shapes in a single shade, from knee length to full length chiffon.

Brides on their appointments (example reviews)

Ninety minutes that never felt hurried. The consultant listened, brought out a fit and flare nobody had considered, and that was the one.

Five bridesmaids, five body shapes, one shade of sage. Everyone tried dresses side by side, and every one of them felt good on the day.

The fittings were calm and exact. The hem was set to the precise shoe height, and the bustle held through every dance.

Before you book

How early should the search start?

About nine to twelve months before the wedding, because most gowns take four to six months to make and fittings need another two. Saturdays fill weeks ahead, so weekday appointments are easier to find.

Can a dress be bought online?

No. Every dress is tried on and ordered in the shop, because fit, fabric and colour cannot be judged from a photo. Only the appointment itself is booked online.

Who should come along?

Up to four guests for a bridal appointment, or six on a private evening. A smaller group usually makes the decision easier, and the bride always has the final word.

What should a bride wear or bring?

Smooth, neutral underwear and shoes close to the heel height planned for the day, though shoes can be borrowed here. Pictures of gowns you like help, and so does a list of what you already know you dislike.

Can photos be taken during the visit?

Yes, of your favourites towards the end of the appointment. Keeping photos until then helps the bride decide by how a gown feels, not only by how it looks on a screen.

What if the appointment has to move?

Move or cancel at least 48 hours ahead and the booking fee carries over to the new date. With less notice, or a missed appointment, the fee is kept.

Book a dress appointment

Choose the appointment and the day and time that suit you. Within one working day the shop confirms that slot or offers the nearest alternative, and the booking fee is settled once it is confirmed.

  • A private fitting room for every appointment
  • Booking fee taken off the dress you order
  • Fee paid to the shop once the slot is confirmed

Each request is answered within one working day.

Find the fitting rooms

The shop opens by appointment only, so the fitting rooms stay calm and your consultant stays with you.

About this sample page

How this sample boutique fills its fitting rooms

Ivory Lace Bridal is an invented boutique whose page sets out to turn browsing brides into booked appointments. It states early that gowns are tried and ordered in the shop, so the website's job is the booking rather than the sale. Four appointment cards give the length, the guests and the booking fee, and each one fills in the request form below. A five step journey, a description of the rails and a price guide answer the questions brides ask before committing. Every section points the bride toward the fitting room.

A bridal shop joining AI Web Maker describes the boutique and its appointments, and the builder lays out the cards, the sections and the request form. A bride asks for a day and time, and the boutique can accept the request, move it or decline it. Fees and deposits pass directly to the shop, which keeps every cent. The boutique's hosting is $119 per year after launch, and its domain is a separate cost. Boutiques that also dress grooms or sell accessories can add sections and keep the same calm order.
